Shogetsu Punting Station(Yanagawa Kawakudari)
Yanagawa's river cruise tourism was established in 1961 by our company (Yanagawa Kanko Kaihatsu Co., Ltd.). The "Shogetsu Bunjinkan" where the current punting station is located is a mid-Meiji period building, and is associated with the great poet Hakushu Kitahara, one of the greatest poets of the Showa period, who wrote a poem about the location in his collection "Omoide". The first chapter of sightseeing in Yanagawa begins with the slow rowing of the "Donko Boat".
Our river cruise begins at the Shogetsu Punting Station, passes through the old castle's water gate and calmly descends through the inner moat, a canal within the castle, turning left and right, and ending at the Okinohata or Ohana. The course is about 4.5 km long and takes about 70 minutes.
