Look for the yellow flag with "GOGODAY TRAVEL" written on it.

8:30 Depart from Fukuoka

9:40 Kitakyushu
▼ Mekari Parking Area (approx. 20 minutes free time)
Enjoy beautiful views of the Kanmon Strait from the observation deck, and shop for local specialties from Kyushu and Shimonoseki.

10:50 Yamaguchi
▼ Akiyoshido Cave - One of Japan's leading large limestone caves located at the foot of Akiyoshidai (approx. 120 minutes, free time including lunch time. Lunch and entry fees are at your own expense)

Akiyoshido Cave is a mysterious cave with plenty of sights to see and a total length of over 11.2 km (the tourist course inside the cave is about 1 km). A particular highlight is Hyakumaizara, or “One Hundred Plates,” a natural work of art resembling terraced rice paddies and a perfect spot for photos. Try the exploration course for an exciting experience as you climb ladders with a flashlight in one hand and squeeze between stalactites. The inside of the cave is kept at a comfortable 17°C throughout the year, so it is cool in the summer and slightly warm in the winter.

Please note that restaurants near Akiyoshido Cave may close on irregular dates over the New Year holiday period. Please bring your own lunch.

14:00 Yamaguchi
▼Motonosumi Inari Shrine (approx. 40 minutes free time)
Motonosumi Inari Shrine was selected by CNN as one of the most beautiful places in Japan. Located in Nagato, Yamaguchi, the shrine is famed for its tunnel of 123 red torii gates winding down the hillside to the cliffs. Set against the blue sky and sea and lush green landscape, the gates create a spectacular sight that draws attention from around the world. One of Yamaguchi’s most popular spots for spiritual energy, it’s also a stunning spot for social media photos. In winter, you can also enjoy the unique and spectacular view called "Ryugu no Shiofuki" (Salt Spray of the Dragon Palace) located beside the shrine.

Notice: Due to ongoing repair work on the torii gates at Motonosumi Inari Shrine, visitors are currently unable to pass through the torii gates. The repair work is expected to continue until spring 2027 or later.

Worship Suspension Dates: From March to November 2026, worship at the shrine will be suspended on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. For a summary of what visitors can and cannot do on suspension days, please click here.

Alternative destination during closures of Motonosumi Inari Shrine
▼Fukutoku Inari Shrine
This shrine offers a wide variety of blessings, including good fortune, prosperous business, family safety, safe voyages, academic achievement, traffic safety, and prayers for a bountiful catch. The vivid red torii gates contrast beautifully with the blue sea and islands dotting the Hibiki-nada Sea. Follow the tunnel of gates from the shrine grounds through dappled sunlight, and emerge to breathtaking views of the sea stretching out below.

15:20 Yamaguchi
▼Tsunoshima Bridge (approx. 30 minutes) Often featured in TV commercials, Tsunoshima Bridge is celebrated as one of Japan’s most scenic spots. Its idyllic white sands and cobalt-blue waters have also made it a social media sensation. The 1,780m-long Tsunoshima Bridge is free for vehicles to cross.

On a sunny summer day, the contrast between the blue of the sea, the white of the road, and the green of the island is beautiful, making it a perfect photo spot.

15:50 Return trip After finishing a fun day of sightseeing, we will head back.

18:30 Arrive in Fukuoka
The tour officially ends upon arrival at Lawson Hakata Station Chikushi Exit (2-2-2 Hakataekihigashi, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, 812-0013).
