Product Code:

“Hakata dolls,” which were certified as a traditional national craft in 1976, are unglazed using clay harvested in Fukuoka Prefecture. The beginning of Hakata dolls is said to be in 1600 during the Kuroda Nagamasa era.

[Hakata Figure Studio Kawasaki]

Hakata Doll Studio Kawasaki is a workshop that makes Hakata dolls, a traditional craft from Fukuoka Prefecture.

Her older sister, Kawasaki Sachiko, and younger brother, who are certified traditional craftsmen, and her younger brother, Shuichi, make dolls by hand one by one, from fabric making to coloring.

Learn the history, background, and production process of Hakata dolls in an actual workshop from traditional craftsmen, and create your own original work by painting the process of taking molds and painting Hakata dolls as an experience. It is a content where you can actually hear the commitment and thoughts of traditional craftsmen to their works.

[Hakata Polygon Project]

 ① Prototype ⇒② Mold removal⇒ ③ Making the dough ⇒ ④ baking ⇒⑤ COLORING

[Experience Itinerary]

Experience part ② of the above process, then experience painting in ⑤ imitating Kumadori, which is the traditional makeup method of Kabuki.

Kumadori (Kumadori) is a makeup method unique to Kabuki, and it is a vivid makeup method that allows you to boldly create faces using vermilion and ink.

There are various samples, but you can make your own original Hakata dolls.

The work is attached to a wooden board and tailored so that it can be displayed on a wall. You can take it home the same day.
