Takachiho Gorge is a valley formed a long time ago by the volcanic eruption of Mount Aso. Cliffs rise on both sides, and Manai Falls, with a height of 17 meters, is spectacular.
There is a walking path of about 1 km along the gorge. Please enjoy a walk in the nature of Takachiho Gorge.

Aso Volcano
Aso Volcano is an active volcano representing Japan. It has a caldera terrain that is rare in the world, and it is one of the few tourist spots where you can observe active volcanoes up close. You can look down at the crater up close and experience the astonishing power of nature and the spectacular scenery in the white smoke that rises.
Aso Yamakusa Senri
Aso Yamakusa Senri has a pond formed by rainwater in the center, and cows and horses are grazing there, so you can enjoy the scenery every season. Stroll through this 20,000 hectare endless prairie and refresh yourself in the fresh mountain air!
Aso Volcano Museum (Entrance fee: 1100 yen, self-charge)
Facing the vast banks of Kusasenri, the Aso Volcano Museum exhibits the topography, geology, flora and fauna of Aso under the theme of “Aso Volcano.” It preserves many materials that are interesting for understanding the history of Aso Volcano. Not only can you experience the formation process of Aso Volcano with a huge three-dimensional model, but valuable materials about volcanoes in Japan and around the world are also on display. Live footage of Nakadake crater, which is relayed by the latest camera system, is also shown in the building.
[Mount Aso helicopter sightseeing flight - feel the breath of the earth (extra charge)]
See the scenery inside the active volcano Aso crater from the sky by helicopter! A helicopter sightseeing experience where you can overlook the inside of an active volcano crater and the world's largest caldera “Outer Ring Mountain” from the sky. Spectacular views open up from the aircraft window. The ash plume erupting from the volcano is impressive. Every season, you can see Kirishima azaleas blooming in Miyama, burnt fields, green grasslands, and snowy landscapes.

3) Staff who can speak Chinese, English, Japanese, or Korean will accompany you, but please be aware that they cannot necessarily guide you in your native language.
