10:00Kumamoto Castle (110 min)
Kumamoto Castle is one of Japan's top three castles, and it is a beautiful castle built by Kato Kiyomasa. The highlights are the “warrior back” stone wall, which curves the higher you go, and the magnificent castle tower. It has recovered from the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake, and it is a spectacular spot where approximately 800 cherry trees are in full bloom in spring, and it is a representative spot for Kumamoto sightseeing where you can enjoy Kumamoto gourmet food and souvenirs at the adjacent Josaien. It is said that the famous swordsman Miyamoto Musashi, the author of “Book of Five Rings”, also spent his later years near present-day Chiba Castle Town.

Kusasenri is a vast grassland spread out at the northern foot of Mount Aso and boasts an area of approximately 20,000 hectares. There is a pond made of rainwater in the center, and there is a landscape where cows and horses are grazing. It is a place where you can feel the nature of each season and feel refreshed while taking a leisurely stroll.

Mount Nakadake
Mount Nakadake is a volcano (1,506 meters above sea level) that rises in the center of Mount Aso in Kumamoto Prefecture, and is characterized by its beautiful conical shape. At the huge crater with a diameter of 600 meters, a depth of 130 meters, and a circumference of 4 kilometers, you can see violently white ash plumes and dynamic scenery up close. From the top of the mountain, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the land of Aso and the surrounding area.
*If an entry ban is announced from Aso Volcano, the itinerary will be adjusted according to local conditions.
*If the crater is closed, the time required for Kusasenri will be changed to 90 minutes.
15:50Roadside Station Aso (15 min)
“Roadside Station Aso” is a tourist spot located at the foot of the majestic Mount Aso. There is also a direct sales place with fresh local agricultural products and specialty products, and a restaurant where you can enjoy gourmet food unique to Aso.
